You Choose Who Is In Your Life

It seems so obvious, but for years I haven’t lived as if I had a choice. People chose me and then they stuck. Unless they were obviously nasty people, or made me uncomfortable, they became a part of my life. I didn’t even ask myself- Do I want that person in my life? Do they add to my life? Are they on the same path as I am?

The simple realization that I have a choice was empowering.

How does it feel if you say it out loud in the first person?

I choose who is in my life.

When I meet someone new, the question is no longer- Do they like me?

The question is- How do I feel about them? Do I like them?

I don’t need everyone to like me. I don’t need to compromise myself for anyone’s approval. What I need is to consciously surround myself with quality people with whom spending time is joyful and effortless. After all, I’m creating the state of my life. And so are you.

Thoughts for your consideration…

Peace & Love,

Kim

  1. This is exactly why I’m more comfortable with people than I used to be. The old saying “What you think of me is none of my business. What I think of you is all of my business.” So many wasted years striving for other’s approval when all it took was self-approval and refusing to surround myself with those whom are not toxic.
